| Meaning thefields.xyz Ltd UK00004141676 | | Goods/Service: Software Background ‘Meaning' [Company Public Facing ... Class 042 Class 042 Computer & Software Services & Scientific Services Goods/Service: Software Background ‘Meaning' [Company Public Facing name} is a de-centralised Art Collective made up of a wide range of Creatives, Technologists, Artists, Software Engineers, Hardware Manufacturers and many more that stand with Art before commerce and profiteering. They are interconnected by the same common share values and use new economics to determine worth and value of an Artists work, the value to the user and how revenues are distributed back into the Industry, with a mission to restore a new economic order and reform to the Industry. The Arts, and in particular, The Music Industry, has become an oppressive place ruled by a number of borderline tyrannical leaders in both the Major Record Label and Streaming Services space. This collective vows to create a new value proposition for Music, and how we discover and listen to it, and have The Industry enter a new period of growth. Streaming Subscriptions (Spotify, Apple Music…) are plateauing and Music itself is becoming a decreasingly valuable asset in a world of social media and video content. The Industry needs a new value proposition if it is to compete with the likes of Social Media, Gaming and beyond. Attributing “Meaning” to music again is the core principle of the business and it’s long term effect will help users connect more deeply with it as an Art form, hoping it to become a primary activity again, with users creating collections of music they feel they truly own, and moving away from an access-everything streaming age, which has reduced the value of it substantially over time and where the economics of streaming don’t work Artists, Managers, with the majority of the money taken by the platforms or the major record labels. Grass roots culture is affected by such economics, Artists are finding it harder to reach audiences, tour and connect, in a social media world of viral content and trending content. This content is commonplace amongst youth audiences and is in turn creating a meaningless curriculum that is a whole generations current introduction to Art. Art builds identity and it inspires Youth to create. To create is to be, and is to many a sense of Meaning. Much of the Philosophy within the business and it’s leader stems from Jung Psychology (Collectivism, Hero’s Path and Mandala of the Modern man) and its thinking is to try and get us away from what has become a Capitalist society and back to a more collectivism way of connected with Art and The Planet. “Meaning” will come with 3 core products over the coming years that attribute value back into music by connecting Music with the user, their context and how they feel, whilst also challenging the economics of how Art is distributed and reaches Audiences. The nobility of the act of of being Art first, and not obsessed with profiteering, depicts fundamental Meaning at its core. Product 1: ?-D (Pronounced) ‘Why-D’, is a data portability tool, where you can download all your data from other platforms (Spotify, Google, Instagram, Tik Tok, Whatsapp…) and house it all in one place. The user has complete control over their data and can see where other companies are using it and how. This offers some much needed transparency to consumer in age where data harvesting and ownerships has driven big tech companies to build substantial advertising networks and monetise this data in a way that isn’t as clear to the consumer as it could be. The product starts by onboarding all of your data - which is now available to users at their own will, in line with new GDPR guidelines & regulation, that any company has to provide the users personal data to them in real time via an API technology. Once the data is downloaded, the “?-D” then categorises into several categories which Meaning describe as “Fields”. The Key categories or “Fields” are: Where Location data using GPS identifies the users current, historic or future locations When Timestamp data records the users transition between locations and can also read other measures of time such as acceleration (example when driving) or slowing down (at home in a single space), or a calendar date specific to a time of year - for example Christmas Who This contains both the users personal data (name, age, address, bank details etc) and those of users connected around them. The data is not public for anyone to see and the amount of data available to be used in other services is controlled by the user. What Contextual data (as used in Google Maps and Search) determines the intention of a user and is a combination of other data sources to identity what the user is doing or going to do - for example user has booked a flight to Vienna and it is the date of the flight, then it is determined the user is travelling Why This is determined with a series of other data points matched with contextual data to determine and rational or reason for their activity. For example they could be visiting family on their travels, which can be determined by social media conversations on the likes of messaging services like WhatsApp. The use of biometric data further adds to the quality of this data set to determine how the user feels - for example use of EEG to gather neural data to test a positive response to the music played. How The technological means in which the user is listening to the music or playing media, or where the music is played from - this could be a speaker, headphones, car, laptop or any other device that plays the media, via a bluetooth connection to media source For Pre existing data sets curated by Artists, Journalists, DJs, Academics, Professionals and Researchers that apply a human level of curation of Music to the applied scenario. These can be pre loaded based on existing knowledge but are also updated regularly as more people join the platform to curate specific experiences. Meta This field is the Music or other Media that is displayed. Meta Data is part of songs that are delivered to major services like Spotify, Apple etc and contain further information such as genre, tempo, style and other parameters. The most relevant song is matched to the user and in turn gives them a dynamic soundtracking experience and a sense of ‘magic’. The data fields are overlaid in a unique way. Combining Where, When & Meta Fields determine the surface area of the data set and creates a Triangulation of Moment Within the parameters of the Triangulation of Moment, overlaid into this are the Who, What, Why, How and For, which in turn creates a Hexagulation of Meaning It is this Hexagulation of Meaning that is truly unique and only achieved by the data portability tool. In turn the user feels a heightened sense of Meaning and truly connected to both the music and their surroundings. This makes them feel better for a number of reasons - Heightened emotional resonance to the song - Likelihood of remembering the moment - Neurologically stimulated by having their life moment soundtracked in a unique way. Example of how these data sets can be used to create a moment of meaning for the user: - A family is visiting The New Forest and goes for a walk to see the Wild Horses - They encounter the horse and have a moment undisturbed - It starts to rain so they all get back in the car. - The Software then plays “The Rolling Stones - Wild Horses”, giving them a sense of magic connecting to the moment which in turn creates Meaning How this is achieved technologically: - Listening mode: actively taking in user data without playing media - Where: Location determines The New Forest - When: Determines time and date - Who: Identifies user as Father of Family, accompanied by other users (his family) - What: Father gets into the car and this identifies a travelling field, Met Office data determines it is raining locally - How: Bluetooth connection to audio player in the car - Why: to return back to location where the family are staying - For: Curators have tagged Music to fit the fathers previous listening data, the context of the new forest and that it is raining - Meta: Software decides optimum match is “The Rolling Stones - Wild Horses” Whilst it is complex data physics, the user is to feel as if it has been done ‘by magic’, and it is that feeling that Meaning wants to create for its users. Meaning is a feeling fundamentally, and in a world of throw away short form video feeds on social media, this is a moment that can have a profound affect on users and make them feel they are in a movie, creating a ‘sync’ effect but on a micro level. Syncs in The Music Industry (where a specific song is licensed to a specific moment - an advert, sporting game or brand endorsement’ is used regularly at high level partnership level, but isn’t able to be recreated in the every day, and this software solves that. Further to this: The word “Meaning” is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as the below noun noun: meaning; plural noun: meanings 1. what is meant by a word, text, concept, or action."the meaning of the Hindu word is ‘breakthrough, release’"Similar:definitionsenseexplanationdenotationconnotationinterpretationelucidationexplication * implied or explicit significance."he gave me a look full of meaning"Similar: significance, sense, signification import gist implication message essencesubstancepurportintentionexpressivenesseloquenceimplicationsintimationsinsinuations * important or worthwhile quality; purpose."this can lead to new meaning in the life of older people"Similar:valuevalidityworthconsequenceaccountuseusefulnesssignificancepoint adjective: meaning 1. intended to communicate something that is not directly expressed."she gave Gabriel a meaning look"Similar:meaningfulsignificantpointedeloquentexpressivespeakingrevealingsuggestiveOpposite:vacantThese are all words that could relate to the heightened sense of emotion depicted by matching music and media to wider contextual data points, to heighten its quality and user experience. The user’s data is encrypted using Military Level encryption software to protect identity and place the User’s ID unique on Blockchain. This tokenisation of a user’s identity can be used to purchase items like Tickets to Live Shows, where this is a huge problem with the secondary ticket market and fans that want to see The Artist are often beaten by bots or touts who buy them on to sell on secondary websites. Ticketmaster’s domination of the Ticketing area of the Industry is also oppressive and under scrutiny, taking a large percentage of revenue from sales, whilst it is becoming harder for Artists to tour economically and in turn less live music events are taking place for young people to attend. Putting emphasis back on Users control of data and enabling them to experience more Art, again depicts the term Meaning - and demonstrates the humanitarian side to the business’ aims. Product 2: The Fields A climate conscious Music Experience, with Artists that believe their music is worth more to the world, and an alternative to Spotify. The use of these data sets is then mapped in a data cloud called “The Fields”, this creates a new form of musical eco-system around the world where users can enter and travel between different “Fields” for unique experiences. - The music service will provide streaming functionality, but it promotes dynamic storing to hard drive to lower carbon emissions caused by other current music services. - A user’s emissions are also measured alongside their music streaming consumption, and they can see in real time their effect on the planet and how many emissions the user is creating. - The Fields promotes a more mindful approach to consuming music and in turn connects the user with the planet on which they live. - It is this connection that gives them as a user, a heightened sense of Meaning by using a purpose lead service, concerned with the environment and quality housing of Artists and their Art. Dynamic pricing of this service allows access for underprivileged communities and gives everyone the opportunity to be inspired by The Arts, and takes the business away from large corporations concerned with profiteering and greed. It is a noble act and full of meaning to tackle such economics. Product 3: The Eyes The Fields is enhanced by Unique Mixed Reality Glasses called “The Eyes” that enable you to see what music is playing and new locations of Fields in Augmented Reality. - This is technologically done by mapping data Fields to specific locations, made visible by lightweight laser led display on the glasses’ lens. - For example Glastonbury Festival could have its very own Field, uniquely co-ordinated to house a unique experience for the time is running. - The Glasses have so many other health and environmental benefits, sustainability manufactured from biodegradable materials as well as special functionality to help the neurodivergent and impaired. - They are to be made with Gaming Engine Software, so as to attract youth and operate in this space The Interface in The Eyes is designed to be more harmonious with Nature, and rethinks screentime in the modern age. They are designed to offer young people an alternative to Social Media, increase the number and quality of Human Share Experiences and tackle so many problems from ADHD, Emissions and poor economics. Summary The core use of the data portability tool “?-D”, used in “The Fields” and then enhanced in “The Eyes” depicts a purpose driven business that does not want to profiteer from The Arts, and has a humanitarian mission, which sets it apart from other big tech companies, that in itself is meaningful but it is the unique combination of it’s data physics that truly create ‘Meaning’ back to the user. My personal background has been filled with various examples of trauma that I have energy transferred into my new business and gift to the world. I went through the process of finding things I felt were full of Meaning to me - Art, Helping People, Design, Creativity, Purpose, Leadership and Nature. There is a tremendous amount of goodwill for me personally and my business, from a wide range of Artists, Managers and Senior Leaders in The Music Industry and I have road tested the concept to them, with a huge amount of positive feedback. Visual accompaniments to demonstrate the ?-D and its data physics, The Fields user experience and Engineering designs for The Eyes are available on request, as well and full technical documentation about how the software works and research logs exploring psychological and physical health, and how this series of products, and the overall company create Meaning, in a world where we need some hope and something new. Innovate UK are incredibly supportive and want me to win a SMART Grant, and I have representatives of The Alan Turing Institute and Imperial College on my team, all the while partnering with The NHS as a bold new way to treat anxiety, depression and ADHD which is a huge issue globally. It would be great for this to come from The UK. Many thanks for reviewing my application. Luke Ferrar ;Development of computer software. | |
