Horizon Curriculum - The Horizon curriculum was written by school leaders and aims to develop a wide range of skills that supports the children to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the world; preparing the,m for the future. Aim: The Horizon Curriculum seeks to promote curiosity, investigation and exploration. It provides young people with the opportunity to acquire skills that are transferable and relevant to their lives, in order to broaden their horizons in the years ahead. By fostering the courage to ask questions, the creatively to experiment, the aspiration to focus and preserve and the kindness to share and collaborate, the Horizon Curriculum embeds Phoenix's core values into young people's day to day learning experience. Structure: The structure of the curriculum uses foundation subjects as a vehicle for reading and writing. It is a skills based curriculum that focuses on developing historians, geographers, scientists, theologists and culturalists and uses this to develop skills in reading and writing through a cross curricular approach.
